Charcoal Teeth Whitening Recipe

Whiten Your Teeth & detox Your Mouth with food grade activated Charcoal

What You Need:

  • ACTIVATED CHARCOAL- pure food grade

  • 100% calcium bentonite clay (optional)

Mix 1/4 teaspoon of pure food grade charcoal (I use charcoal from coconut shells) with 1/4 teaspoon bentonite clay if using. I like the added detoxifying benefits of bentonite clay but its not necessary.

Add just enough water to form a paste. It doesn’t take a lot!

Gently brush with a manual toothbrush, not electric.

I like to swish the charcoal around my mouth for a few minutes

Spit into a cup or very close to the sink. It will get everywhere you spit, so try to keep it neat.

Rinse multiple times. Do not ingest.

Don’t use electric brush. It will stay stuck in it forever and is a mess if it sprays out of your mouth.

Charcoal may be a very fine powder. Be extra cautious to not get it on things because it will stain.

Spit into a cup instead of the sink so its easier to clean.

DO NOT USE CHARCOAL FROM YOUR BBQ. Only use food grade activated charcoal.

how it works:

Went a little crazy while brushing and ended up with charcoal lips too!

Charcoal is adsorptive. Meaning it attracts and holds on to molecules as opposed to absorbing them. Instead, the action happens on the surface of the charcoal. Activated charcoal means it has undergone, ‘activation’ with gases at high temperature to remove previously adsorbed substances and further reduces particle size, resulting in an exceptionally porous final product. This allows the adsorption of drugs and toxins through weak intermolecular forces. 1. Our mouth is full of bad bacteria and charcoal helps bind to the toxins and remove them when we spit them out. Same goes with plaque and other crud that sits on our teeth and stains them. The porous surface has a negative electric charge that attracts positively charged unwanted toxins and gas. 2.
